Mayweather vs. Hatton 24/7 To Air On HBO
September 19th, 2007 . by Dell
Good news for the fans who enjoyed HBO’s Mayweather vs. De La Hoya 24/7 series earlier this year. The 24/7 series will be back, this time with Ricky Hatton replacing DLH. For those of you who haven’t seen the series, it basically provides a behind the scenes look into a boxers preparation for an upcoming fight (think NFL Hard Knocks for boxers).
Even if you don’t plan to watch the big fight on December 8th, the show is always entertaining (see floyd pic above). I expect Floyd to do the very same thing he did to Oscar, Zab, Baldomir and Gatty. Ricky Hatton will provide a challenge in the sense that he likes to clench and hold alot, Floyd is a speed boxer who relies on creating space between him and his opponent to fire off potshots. If Hatton is able to close that gap and bang on the inside, then it COULD be interesting. But more than likely, this will be a 12 round fight, with Floyd taking 9 or 10 of those rounds by outboxing Hatton.
The first 30-minute episode of “Mayweather/Hatton 24/7″ will debut Nov. 18 (10 p.m. ET/PT). The second and third episodes will air in the same Sunday night time slot with the finale due to air Thursday, Dec. 6, two days before the bout.
I’ve been waiting on someone to shut Ricky Hatton’s mouth for a while now, he has some of the most obnoxious fans in the world. Who in the hell sings at a boxing match? I already know what you’re thinking… “but Floyd Mayweather has a big mouth too! and he’s one of the most obnoxious athletes I’ve ever seen”
You’re right. But he’s American, and Hatton is from England. We’re so biased against foreigners it’s a shame.
Here’s a preview of the bout (unrelated to the HBO show)
