Just months before his scheduled sentencing date, Michael Vick has tested positive for marijuana usage. This move violates the terms of his release, and may upset Judge Henry Hudson when he lays down the law come December. How stupid this move is probably doesn’t need to be mentioned, but it an odd way I can comprehend Michaels point of view.

As Chris Rock once said about O.J. murdering Nicole.. “I don’t agree…….. but I understand”

Just think about it for a moment, if you were fired from the job you love, lost potential future earnings of over $130 million dollars, and were currently awaiting imprisonment because your two “best friends” in the world threw you to the wolves (pun intended)… You just might need to roll a joint too. I don’t even smoke, but I could see myself needing a visit to Dr. Greenthumb if I were in Michael Vick’s shoes.

One thing about this Michael Vick case that really saddens me is how the media has his supporters completely terrified to speak on his behalf publicly. The members of the Atlanta Falcons have been oddly cold whenever Michael is mentioned. I understand their entire season has gone down the drain because Vick is gone. These guys eat, sleep, and breathe football, so for them to be upset is definitely understandable. But this is bigger than the game they play, their fellow brother is about to be thrown in jail. Federal Prison. This will impact his life forever, and for them to seemingly not be able to see past a game and speak on his behalf is very sad to me.

This NFL season lasts five months, in under twelve months the Falcons will have an entirely new season to be optimistic about. Their friend Michael won’t have that luxury.
