This was a good fight. I was kinda surprised that it didnt get stopped in the second round. I was glad to see Taylor get his ass whupped, maybe that will shut him up for a little bit. Taylor kept getting trapped in the corners and Pavlik always took advantage.

OOOOOOHHHHHHH what a fight!!!!!!!! I was so happy to see loudmouth arrogant piece of crap pretender..I will never forget when he proclaimed he is on level wit Ray Robinson (what a weenie) anyway, I think B Hop got robbed in there fight..not neccessarily the outcom but the lopsided score.. maybe this broght him back to earth and will make him take things more seriously and get back on track except w/a cocky attitude. he has a trmendous amount talent….Go Pavlik

  5. comment number 5 by: axlNo Gravatar

what a great pavlik!!! after rd 2 he managed to survive and got a victorious finish to bragging mouthful taylor!!!! hahahaha… hope you can post something from the coming fight pacquiao vs barrera!!! thanks!!!

WOW if that wasn’t Robbery i don’t know what is…Funny how he didn’t stop the fight when Pavlik was clearly hurt bad and out on his feet…But he stopped it really quick when Taylor was hurt….Just another way to promote boxing..Taylor should take a rematch, drop manny stewart and knock out Pavlik.

  7. comment number 7 by: yadzNo Gravatar

what a great fight and i want the rematch as soon as possible. l like seeing taylor losses conciousness in the rematch..pavlik will definitely knock him again. watch my word..taylor will be finished in round4..

  8. comment number 8 by: badass boxerNo Gravatar

Both are great guys and noble. Pavlik just happened to be the better and stronger puncher. Taylor seems to punch behind the head that made Pavlik lose round 2. Nevertheless, i want them to both reign as champs, second only to Calzaghe. I want BHopkins to face Pavlik and see what he is made of when he faces a puncher like Kelly.

the only reason why the referee didn’t call the fight on pavlik is because he was still alive on his KNEES, and he got right back up! When Kelly had Taylor in the corner, he sat him down. Look how long it took taylor to get up off the canvas after the fight! You all know that if the referee had not stepped in that taylor would not have gotten up, and if he did, he would’ve been disoriented and pavlik would’ve sat him down again! good decision by the ref. Pointless for them to have a rematch…I don’t think taylor wants to be humiliated again.

I just wanted to tell you i am a big fan of ohio sports and ohio pride.I grew up in Lorain Ohio, live in az now but still watch the browns while listening to Jim Donovan play by play on serious radio.I watch the indians, and the cavs. But i must tell you we are so so proud of kelly not just because he is the champ but for always being true to Ohio.It was great to see him at Jacobs field wear the tribe jersey!!!Our home to the end we will defend our Ohio STATE!!!!!!!

  13. comment number 13 by: arjay salomonNo Gravatar

taylors punches aint a boxers punch its more of a muay thai punch it aint effective and it cost stamina.. its more like a rixardo mayorga punch it only stuns opponent cause they both hit opponents at the back of the head..

  14. comment number 14 by: realNo Gravatar

I dont want to see pavlik fight B-hop because he’s past his prime even though he still has enough in the tank to whip some ass i dont think he can fool with pavlik right now, but to be honest a younger B-hop will dominate pavlik. To me B-hop needs to retire as the Don that he is like he promised his family, before time really catches up with him.

Lennox Lewis said, “I don’t know where that shot came from but it definitely hurt Jermain Taylor”. Get your head out your asses and take your criticism elsewhere, FUCKERS.

  16. comment number 16 by: victorNo Gravatar

i was shocked that the referee didnt stop the fight in the 2nd round…he also gave pavlik to recover..i wasnt disappointed at all..Taylor fought a good fight..I thought pavlik was just gonna walked all over him…good job Taylor…The race is not usually win by the best horse.

  17. comment number 17 by: RuthlessRussianNo Gravatar

Very exciting fight. I don’t know for sure but Kelly’s last name is of a Slavic decent, like polish or something not to take anything away from good old State of Ohio sports. It would be nice to see an Undefeated Kelly Pavlik Vs an Undefeated 43-0 Arthur Abraham of Armenia (aka Georgia – a former republic of USSR ) They both are known to be able to take a punch & knock other fighters the f..k out. How about it people another math up of two undefeated champs to unify three belts in one fight?

  18. comment number 18 by: J WalkerNo Gravatar

Pavlik is an incredible puncher. I think they stopped the fight a little bit too fast, but I definitely want to see a rematch between the two fighters. After that I would like to see one of these guys face Mayweather.

  19. comment number 19 by: RuthlessRussianNo Gravatar

Mayweather is in 147 lbs weight class, these guys weighed in @ 159lbs but in the ring they were probably somewhere near 165lbs ,so Mayweather doesn’t want to be in the ring with either one of them!

  20. comment number 20 by: mrfrostNo Gravatar

Yeah thats true, Mayweather was already above his natural weightclass when he fought Oscar at junior middleweight. Floyd should go back down to Welterweight where he can dominate

  21. comment number 21 by: PaulNo Gravatar

I can’t believe that white boy (Pavlik) BEAT the black man (Taylor). White people can not fight. You gonna start to get white boys getting brave now thinking they can fight with black men. I hope Mayweather puts that white boy (Hatton) in his place.

  22. comment number 22 by: MFernNo Gravatar

What a fight. Both fighters were awesome. Well deserve win for Pavlik. Ya’ll damn idiots talk like you can fight. White or Black, it dont matter, I bet you idiots together cant even stand up to either one of them. You know it. Scrawny Idiots.

And as for the comment regarding lennox lewis, I dont like lennox at all but at the end of the fight he said, “I dont know where the punch came from but IT DEFINATELY hurt Jermain Taylor”.

Clean yo ears and listen to it again. I know he has that funny accent, but it’s plain english yo. LISTEN first, then criticize. Peace MuthaF@#kas!

  23. comment number 23 by: MikeNo Gravatar

J Walker, said “I think they stopped the fight a little bit too fast”.

What the Fak were you watching? Taylor went to sleep for crying out loud. He went to fuckin LaLaLand. He was seeing stars. He sat down and stared at the fuckin floor cuz he got knocked the fuck out!!!!! What the hell are you talking about. You should get knocked the fuck out too for your stupid ass comment.

    Awesome fight though.

  24. comment number 24 by: WBNo Gravatar

“I dont know where the punch came from but IT DEFINATELY hurt Jermain Taylor”. It came from Pavlik’s one of two arms. It knocked him out, right? Thanks Captain Obvious.

  25. comment number 25 by: ibk68No Gravatar

Okay, just a reminder…when Pavlik got knocked down, he didn’t give the ref time to call the fight because he bounced back up within 2 seconds. By the time he turned around from guiding Taylor to his corner…Kelly was already up. Taylor was on his ass with his head slumped over and was vulnerable to permanent damage if he hadn’t jumped in. He wasn’t getting up and even the ever confident one admitted that he was beaten. Do you really think someone that was hit so hard that he couldn’t keep his eyes open would be ready to even stand up? He was out…period. And the black and white thing??? Please…is there really a reason to talk about the race thing here? I guess you haven’t watched the Klitschkos knock out all their opponents either…black and white. I don’t see any black russian heavyweight champions up there. Although…I am hoping Samuel Peters gets more consistent and takes it all.

  26. comment number 26 by: Boxing fanNo Gravatar

What a fight. I didn’t think Pavlik had it in him after the second round. Boy was I wrong! Their next fight will be the same result. Looks like Pavlik going to be champ for a long time.

  27. comment number 27 by: DonnieLiciousNo Gravatar

hey! wtf was dat!?? the damn referee stopped the fight when taylor got knock downed..shudnt he count first? taylor got robbed in this fight that sucks! – not a taylor fan here but damn! if a boxer gets knock downed the ref starts to count him off! taylor was the champ ryt? shud he not given the right to be counted off at least?! f*** the ref!

  28. comment number 28 by: primeNo Gravatar

  34. comment number 34 by: marselNo Gravatar

Mayweather will get his ass knocked out too! this American fighters have been protected and are fake champions. Mayweather has wan at leat 6 fights he should have lost because of the corruption in american boxing!!! —-Joe Calzaghe is the real champ and all these so called american boxing champions have been dodging him for years including the so colled champ “BALCO juiced” Roy Jones, hopkins/////////////

  35. comment number 35 by: El CidNo Gravatar

Pavlik should fight Winky Wright next. He could blast out Winky in a big money fight and put more distance between him and the rest. Plus its a low risk fight for Pavlik….no way Winky can hurt him.

    Kelly Pavlik —IS THE MAN!!!!!!!

  38. comment number 38 by: RipperJTNo Gravatar

My 2 cents is that Taylor tried to outmuscle Pavlik. For Taylor to win he has to outbox Palvik. Kelly comes straight forward like a tank and runs people over…Taylor tends to backup and counter punch, which is exactly how Taylor got knocked out. In the second round Taylor was trying to come forward and that’s when he got the knockdown until his sloppy conditioning caught up with him.

  39. comment number 39 by: pinklonboxingNo Gravatar

Not much to say. It was indeed a brutal knockout. Vicious punch.

Pavlik got right back up. Taylor wilted and stayed there.

And then he won again in February. : )

Why do pooh brains like Paul, Doonielicious and M Fern wimpily cry. Very sore losers. How come many blacks have all kinds of excuses when they lose? Be a man and give the better man credit. When idiot loudmouths like Ali, Holmes, Hopkins, Camacho and Taylor act arrogantly they all wind up being big time losers. When classy guys like Joe Frazier, Ray Robinson, Rocky Marciano, Kelly Pavlik, Joe Calzeghe and Joe Louis fight or fought the event was always an honorable one. Grow up you dumbos.
