Steelers’ Najeh Davenport Arrested; Austin Scott Charged w/ Rape

October 12th, 2007 . by Dell

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najeh Davenport was arrested and charged with three misdemeanors after an episode of baby mama drama last week. Davenport has to face charges of domestic violence, endangering children and unlawful restraint, and if you look at the video below you’ll see witnesses who are more than willing to say he’s guilty. None of the charges are particularly serious, he’ll spend less than a year in jail if found guilty of all three. But these three charges will account for 150 points in the Criminal Fantasy League. His “baby mama” looks kinda busted, maybe he got her pregnant before he made it big (is being Willie Parkers backup considered big?).

You woulda thought Najeh learned about committing stupid crimes when he was arrested for breaking in a womans house and taking a dump in her closet a few years ago.

Continuing the running back troubles this week is Penn State’s Austin Scott who has been charged with raping a woman in his on campus apartment last week. In addition to the rape charge, Scott also faces a charge of sexual assault and two counts of indecent assault in connection to the incident. Scott is going with the Mike Tyson defense on this one, saying the sex was consensual.

“The interaction he had with the woman involved was consensual, and we anticipate we will be able to prove that in court,” his lawyer, Joseph Amendola, said. “Very optimistic. We’re looking forward to the opportunity of establishing his innocence.”

The felony rape charge is worth 100 points, and the three assault charges are worth 50 points each which brings the total to 250 points.

These arrests boost Football’s lead in the fantasy league standings tremendously, but with the impending Mitchell Report in baseball, it may be a short lived reign. Here are the current standings:

1. Football – 820 Points (6 arrests)
2. Other Sports – 350 Points (1 steroid allegation, 1 positive test, 1 arrest)
3. Basketball – 100 Points (1 arrest)
4. Wrestling/Boxing/MMA – 100 Points (1 Positive Steroid Test)
5. NHL Hockey
6. Golf
7. Soccer
8. Tennis
9. Auto Sports
10. Baseball
