As a hip hop fan, seeing bits like this make my stomach hurt. On ESPN’s 1st and 10 they attempted to do a “PTI-styled” non sports topic at the end of the show, but didn’t quite pull it off as good as Kornheiser and Wilbon.

Skip Bayless weighed in on Eminem’s relevancy in hip hop and declared him better than just about all of his black counterparts. I’ve heard that opinion before, so thats not the reason I got irritated. It’s just that…. THIS IS ESPN!!!, I don’t care what you think of rap music, tell me about some sports dammit. This was similar to one of those moments where your parents try to relate to something you’re into and totally make an fool of themselves.

I realize it was a lighthearted segment not intended to be taken serious, but it still didn’t work. After doing a google search for “Skip Bayless” + “Idiot” I’ve found that I’m not alone.
