Adalius Thomas of the New England Patriots had a few choice words about his former team the Baltimore Ravens recently, saying:

You’ve got to remember, I’m coming from Baltimore. People there wanted the limelight, people sought out the limelight, starting with the head coach. It was a star studded system. Here [in New England] it’s about as different as you can get.

Everyone here shies away from being the star guy. Nobody on this team beats his chest. They just all go about their business and win.

What is it about New England that turns their players into assholes? This “we’re HUMBLE, we aren’t STARS” thing that every Patriots player is doing this year is starting to get old. The squad is walking around wearing “humble pie” T-Shirts to show just how much they don’t want any attention. At what point does this stop being a sign of selflessness and it starts being a bunch of attention whores?

I’m a humble guy who doesn’t like prancing around for the media and running my mouth, so I’m going to put on this T-Shirt that says how dedicated to winning I am so everyone can look at it….. but I really don’t want any attention.. okay!!

This is the equivalent of giving yourself the nobel peace prize, or honoring yourself with a national monument. If you have to walk around telling everyone how classy you are….. you aren’t classy.

I love how Ray Lewis put Adalius in his place too, check out the video to see his comments. I’m not gonna type them all out, but the main gist was was “we won a championship without you, and the Patriots won three of them without you, so STFU”
