Great Minds Think Alike: Jemele Hill’s Take On The Bonds Issue
November 20th, 2007 . by DellMuch to my enjoyment, ESPN.com’s Jemele Hill wrote a great article today about the government’s childish witch hunt involving Barry Bonds.

She basically said everything I said a few days ago minus the grammatical barbarianism I scorch your eyes with daily. I suggest you take a look at the article, it’s making a few waves and most people viciously disagree with her stance. But then again most people will happily eat the heaps of crap the media shoves down their throat, so thats nothing new.
The only way to see the indictment of Bonds is as a gross, terrible injustice, a startling abuse of power and a waste of taxpayer money…
The decision to indict Bonds on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice – a charge I still don’t understand, considering the government didn’t need Bonds to topple BALCO — isn’t right, fair or just.
At the very heart of the matter, Bonds is being charged with “obstructing justice” even though everyone behind the BALCO power structure have already been jailed. The government didn’t need Barry Bonds’ cooperation to put ANYONE in jail. So exactly what “justice” did he prevent from being served?

On a side note, Jemele Hill also guest hosted ESPN’s Rome Is Burning show today, and bombed. Granted, I didn’t see the entire show because I don’t enjoy Jim Rome. I broke in on the last ten minutes of the broadcast and it was pretty bad, hopefully Jemele can stick to doing 1st and 10 which was very entertaining. She seemed to have good interaction with Skip Bayless, not so much with Sean Salisbury though….
