This is pretty messed up.
If the preliminary theory turns out to be right and Taylor was shot in a home invasion robbery, can we continue to blame athletes for carrying guns? Sean Taylor would be the third athlete this YEAR to be held at gunpoint in his own home. At some point you have to draw a line in the sand and decide to protect yourself.
I’m not saying they have to go all “Tank Johnson and T.I.” on us and get automatic machine guns, but a lil somethin somethin wouldn’t hurt.

Things aren’t looking good for Sean:
Richard Sharpstein, who has represented Sean Taylor in legal matters in the past and is a friend of the family, said moments ago that the player’s life is hanging in the balance in the hospital. Sharpstein, speaking from the hospital, said Taylor is “nonresponsive and unconscious” and the doctors are “worried about a possible brain injury or death.”

team mate reactions to Sean’s injury

Carrying a gun on your person and having it at your home for personal protection are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS IDIOT.
Not even comparable. If turns out that he was too cheap to even have an ALARM SYSTEM on his 900,000 home, what does that say about the way he thought. Such a waste of someone who appeared to be trying to do the right thing
Ok thanks for stating the obvious. It doesn’t matter if an athlete has a gun on them in public or stashed away at home. As long as they take the proper steps to legally have possession of the weapon then everything is peachy.
If someone breaks into your house with the intentions of hurting you (which appears to be the case), I’m pretty sure they don’t care if you have an alarm system.
