Question?: What’s even more amazing than Devin Hester’s kickoff returns?
Answer: The fact that he’s pretty much the sole offensive threat for the Chicago Bears, despite only touching the ball 5-10 times per game. This guy HAS to be making a zillion bucks a year right???….. not quite. Check out his salary breakdown.
On 7/1/2006, Hester signed a four-year, $2.86 million contract. The deal includes $1.264 million in guarantees.
2007: $360,000 (+ $255,000 roster bonus + $907,500 option bonus)
2008: $445,000
2009: $530,000,
2010: Free Agent
That’s NOTHING!!For a player who is shaping up to be the greatest return man in the history of the NFL he should be raking in a huge contract. He’s probably making more money from his Campbell’s Chunky Soup endorsements than he is from the Bears. I normally don’t side with the greedy athlete, but Hester should kick his feet up after this season and tell the Bears to take their rookie contract and shove it.
This guy makes less money than Olindo Mare, I shit you not.

No way he should hold out. He can’t do that to the fans.
