Sports Illustrated Sucks At Predictions; Peter King Sucks At Ranking

December 20th, 2007 . by Dell

Before the season started, Sports Illustrated shared their holy expertise with the world and predicted how this NFL season would play out. For the most part they were horribly off base and proved they’re just as clueless as we are. You can see the actual NFL standings here, and compare them to what Sports Illustrated thought would happen below:

The Good:
- S.I. managed to pick 4 of 8 division winners correctly, but then again who wouldn’t have guessed the Patriots, Colts, and Chargers would take their brackets?

The Bad:
- Only one of their wildcard picks will actually make the playoffs (even though their wildcard pick turned out to win the division outright).

- The Packers at 6-10? The Browns at 5-11?

- A Saints vs. Chargers Super Bowl??? hahahaha that’s pretty funny.

And just as an extra slap in the face… Peter King of Sports Illustrated ranked the top 500 players in the NFL. Terrell Owens was NOT in the top 100… I just wanted to bring this up again, after T.O.’s amazing season.

Just to refresh your memory. Terrell Owens leads the NFC in receiving touchdowns (for the 2nd straight season) , and receiving yards.

How does biased reporting like this keep its credibility?
