2007 NFL All-Pro Roster

January 9th, 2008 . by Dell

Not to be confused with the NFL Pro Bowl roster, the All Pro team is chosen by fifty sports writers instead of votes from the fans, coaches and players.

Instead of splitting teams between the AFC and NFC the All-Pro team is comprised of the “first team” and “second team”, which is a nice way of saying “that other guy did better than you this year”.

I’m happy to see rookie Patrick Willis make the first team, but a little shocked to see Peyton Manning left off. Somehow, Troy Polamalu slithered his way onto this listing also. I don’t understand how he made this OR the pro bowl squad to be honest, he missed a bunch of games due to injury and had no sacks or INT’s all season and only managed to get 58 tackles. Granted, I’ve only seen about 5 Pittsburgh Steeler games all season, but I can’t recall Polamalu coming up big in any one of them.

Since Sportaphile readers have been particularly opinionated in the last two weeks, feel free to tell me why Polamalu deserved a spot in the comment section.

I had Polomalu on my fantasy team this year, and he didnt do much of anything.. Thanks for nothing! lol I dont get why he’s made both the pro-bowl and all pro roster either. Nice to see Sean Taylor represented also.

  2. [...] argument that Wes Welker had a better season than Terrell Owens and deserved a better spot on the All-Pro Team. YES, he took it [...]

The only thing Troy Polamalu did this year better than any other safety in the league was grow a beard.

Adrian Peterson 2nd team? Are you kidding me? He had more total rush yds this season than Westbrook and didn’t start/play in all games at that. Not to mention having to share the backfield w/ C. Taylor. How does Westbrook get 1st team over AD? Unbelievable!

Sean Taylor only played about half a season and he still did better than Polamalu.
