Only in the new millenium would the words Detroit Tigers and offensive machine be used together.
February 26th, 2008 . by Stankoniforous OneBut that is exactly what has potentially happened. Cabrera, Renteria, and Jones to the Tigers?! Not bad additions, in Stank-0’s opinion. Cabrera was playing well before the latest firesale in FLA, Renteria has been on for the Braves, and Jones’ bat was on point after the All Star Game. Add that to Ordonez, Granderson, Polanco, Guillen, Pudge, and Sheffield at DH. That’s down right scary. The…Detroit…Tigers an offensive juggernaut? Stank-0 is in some bizarro world right now.
Stank-0 is also a tad skeptical. Whenever the “experts” predict greatness, they usually misfire badly. Without all these three additions, the Tigers would have been a surefire sleeper this season. Now they are just marginally mentioned. Detroit needs something to cheer about.
