Matt Ryan is similar to who? JaMarcus Russell?

February 26th, 2008 . by Stankoniforous One

Word on the street is that Ryan is goin high in this draft.  Comparisons are drawn to JaMarcus “I want 30 Mil up front” Russell.  Ryan will go high because there are some train wrecks teams in need of a signal caller, but aren’t there always?

Stank-0 can’t give an honest opinion on Ryan because he hasn’t seen enough of this kid.  No huge regular season games with national-title-implications to scrutinize.  No overly promoted BCS bowl game to salivate over.  Unless Stank-0 was a BC homer, there wasn’t much chance to see Ryan in action, however the 411 is that son has problems with accuracy and decision-making.

Russell has physical tools that Ryan can’t even bribe someone for.  Ryan clearly has the off-the-field aspect on point.  At the Combine in a suit!?  Mr. Cool in his interviews?!  NFL personnel directors could see that either way.  He’s calm under pressure or he’s a f*#$ing robot

Even with all these questions, Stank-0 feels sorry for any player drafted by the Fins, Rams, or Falcons.  May God have mercy on your bodies and psyches.  Amen

Only in the new millenium would the words Detroit Tigers and offensive machine be used together.

February 26th, 2008 . by Stankoniforous One

But that is exactly what has potentially happened.  Cabrera, Renteria, and Jones to the Tigers?!  Not bad additions, in Stank-0′s opinion.  Cabrera was playing well before the latest firesale in FLA, Renteria has been on for the Braves, and Jones’ bat was on point after the All Star Game.  Add that to Ordonez, Granderson, Polanco, Guillen, Pudge, and Sheffield at DH.  That’s down right scary.  The…DetroitTigers an offensive juggernaut?  Stank-0 is in some bizarro world right now.

Stank-0 is also a tad skeptical.  Whenever the “experts” predict greatness, they usually misfire badly.  Without all these three additions, the Tigers would have been a surefire sleeper this season.  Now they are just marginally mentioned.  Detroit needs something to cheer about.

Video: Floyd Mayweather’s $20 Million Dollar WWE Wrestlemania XXIV Press Conference

February 25th, 2008 . by admin

Update 3/31: If you’re looking for video of Floyd and Big Show’s Wrestlemania match, CLICK HERE.

Floyd mayweather WWE wrestlemania press conferenceWhy didnt I think of this pairing earlier, after watching the press conference in the video below it makes TOO much sense!

Floyd Mayweather will take home $20 million dollars for taking on The Big Show at Wrestlemania this year. Floyd fits into this atmosphere like a fish to water, he’s insanely arrogant, he has a big mouth, and he loves to interact with fans.

“His manager Leonard Ellerbee and WWE executive Shane McMahon confirmed Mayweather’s eight-figure payday for the outdoor match to be shown on live on pay-per-view.

Mayweather incited the couple hundred of already hyped fans at Staples Center by whipping out a thick wad of cash and repeatedly tossing $100, $50 and $20 bills into the crowd that had nearly as many women as men.

Floyd Mayweather, shown February 18 with WWE star Big Show, will get another crack in the wrestling ring March 30 at WrestleMania XXIV in Orlando, Fla.

A mad scramble ensued, with a light pole nearly getting knocked over and two small children caught in the chaos. One lucky man emerged from the pileup clutching six $100 bills.”

Floyd Mayweather is 5’8 and weighs 147 pounds, Big show is 7 feet and weighs 430 pounds, let’s just all rejoice in the fact that this fight is staged. If it weren’t Floyd would probably be in 3 pieces by the end of the night. Big show had to get on his knees in order for Mayweather to break his nose last week.

I love how Floyd quotes John Amos from Coming To America at the end of the video, “When I say the boy got his own money, that boy gots his own moneyyyy”

Sugar Shane Mosley vs. Zab Judah: Coming May 31st

February 25th, 2008 . by admin

Shane Mosley vs. Zab JudahIf two boxers who got their ass kicked by Miguel Cotto fight in Las Vegas, do they make a sound?

Zab Judah and Shane Mosley will battle it out this summer in a fight titled “High Stakes”. The title is appropriate because whoever loses this fight is pretty much done in terms of being a marquee draw in this business. Although I thought the Mosley/Cotto fight was close, Shane originally said he was going to retire. He must have changed his mind when he viewed the tapes, because now he’s talking like he’s nowhere near hanging up the gloves.

“I’m just trying to get back in there with Cotto and fight him again because I believe I can take him, so this is a real must-win for me,” Mosley said. “There are a lot of great fights out there that I want to be in the mix for, so it’s important. It’s important for me and Zab. I cant wait. It’s going to be fun.”

“I was supposed to fight Mayorga but [his promoter] Don King wasn’t really helpful in that fight, so we couldn’t make the fight,” Mosley said. “So then it came down to Judah and Quintana. We thought Zab was a bigger fight even though it wasn’t for a title. I think Zab’s a bigger name. Maybe I can fight Quintana later. I’d like that. But right now, it’s Judah. It’s a done deal. We’ll go out there and mix it up.”

I think Mosley is going to destroy Judah, it may last into the middle rounds while Shane adjusts to Judah’s speed, but I’m looking for a knockout. Shane is neck and neck with Zab in speed, but he possesses more technical skills and that will really show.

Glenn Dorsey had the most expensive weight bump ever

February 24th, 2008 . by Stankoniforous One

Stank-0 tends to hate the NFL Combine for this kinda nonsense.  Glenn Dorsey, of LSU, will most likely drop more than a few places due to this.  This is exactly how Purple Jesus fell to Minnesota, because of some injury fears.

Let’s be quite honest.  Dorsey is the best defensive tackle, and possibly the best defensive player in the draft.  Now Dorsey played through this for an entire SEC season with no apparent problem!  Now its a problem?!

Go ahead and pass on him, and trust Stank-0, every single team that skips him will regret it.
