Where will John Madden turn for his mancrush!?

March 4th, 2008 . by Stankoniforous One

Favre

Brett Favre has decided to spend more time with his family.  One of Stank-0’s friends is probably on suicide watch right now.  The Cal Ripken of the NFL has walked away from the game, owning many of His Holiness Dan Marino’s records.  After 17 seasons, with the arm he still had and the risks he was willing to take is it any wonder he doesn’t have quite a few QB records?

Stank-0 honestly did not expect Favre to hang ‘em up after his last pass was in INT in the NFC ’ship.

Now comes the difficult part for the media pundits, choosing Favre’s place in the QB pantheon.  GOAT?  Greatest of his generation?  Greatest of his era?  Greatest of the 1990s?  Better than Montana worse than Marino? Better than Marino worse than Montana?  Better than Marino and Montana?

One thing isn’t up for debate, HOF.  Favre is a sure fire first ballot HOFer.  Period.

Take your bow, Mr. Favre.  One of the throwbacks has at last decided to walk away, and the NFL is a lesser place for it.

Never fear, Stank-0 emailed NFL.com to tell them to put Madden on a suicide watch. Everything’s under control.

Stanko – Favre definitely was better than Montana and Jheri curl I mean Marino. Better than Aikman, Young and Jim Kelly. Better than Elway? Not sure about that. BF without question was the best folk hero the NFL had in a long time.

Montana, Favre, Elway, Marino.. Favre gets 2nd place in my book because of how he played the game every single week. He didn’t abandon the team in 2005 when all GB could manage was 4 wins. He refused to leave the team in a bad place and stuck around until they could turn it around. Commendable indeed.

Bigg, actually that ranking right there works…for now. Until Manning and Brady hang ‘em up, of course.

Favre just played which explains Madden’s man crush on him. No prima donna BS…just play the game.
