LeBron On Vogue: King James Or King Kong?

Looking at LeBron on the cover of Vogue magazine with Tom Brady’s girlfriend Gisele Bündchen, one image instantly came to mind. Is this a completely innocent magazine cover? Or just another instance where the media plays into the big-strong-sex-crazed-animalistic-black-guy-and-white-woman stereotype?
I don’t think Vogue is in some secret alliance against black people, and I’m not angry at this or anything, I just automatically noticed the comparison, and I’m eager to find out if anyone else did too. Let me know what you think.

BTW Chuck, I’ve been wondering.. Are you black? You have a lot of comments on the black race but I can’t tell if it’s just a white man looking in or a black man who is very in tune..

I didn’t immediately think of the King Kong connection when i saw the Vogue cover…I did immediately think “oh here we go again..Birth of a Nation revisited”.
ummm yes I kinda do see the resemblance. You are good for seeing it that way. I would have never seen it unless I took another look at it. My thing is, doesn’t the magazine normally put the names of the people and what the issue is about on the cover along with them. Its like Vogues wants you to make your own decision as to what they are trying to say.
Oh and Chuck I love to watch tennis too.
