Byron Leftwich And Gary Coleman One Step Closer To Sharing Cardboard House

A few months ago I paired Byron Leftwich and Gary Coleman together in a look a like post, but it seems as if their similarities are growing.

Byron Leftwich is currently in a career freefall after being regarded as one of the NFL’s brightest up and coming quarterbacks. It isn’t like this was a long time ago either, Leftwich led his team to the playoffs in 2006 and showed absolutely no signs of losing his starting job at the time. Two years later, he’s been dropped by two teams and it seems as if no NFL team wants him at all.

Has the curse of big cheeks jumped from Gary Coleman to Leftwich? Gary experienced a fall from grace of his own, and I’m sure we all know how that played out. From stardom, to losing all his money, to working as a mall security guard, to appearing on “The Today Show” talking about how you’re a 40 year old virgin.

Is there any other reason aside from his frequent injuries that you wouldn’t want Byron Leftwich on your team? If you were a general manager, would you try to sign him to a back up position?

    Stank-0 doesn’t like B-Left’s long wind up.

Byron is a good QB who had the misfortune to play behind a weak O-line and only having one reliable receiver.

Byron is amazing. Since he was drafted, he has been able to play while injured. His ability to perform well while hobbled should be a clear sign for managers that under the right system, he could be one of the greatest QBs maybe of all time. While people may look at him as only a backup quality QB, Byron is a true NFL starter and only once in a blue moon does a QB come around with his intelligence, arm strength, and love of the game. Why he hasn’t been signed yet may continue to allude those who are rooting for him to make a comeback and even himself.
