That’s the only logical explanation for wanting a rematch with a fighter who outclassed him in the ring. The end of the fight wasn’t even controversial, he got knocked the F’ out, plain and simple. But somehow Hatton felt “cheated” in the first fight, and wants to do it again… this time in London, England.

If this were to go down, it would be in 2009 after Floyd’s rematch with Oscar De La Hoya.

Hatton said: “I want to put the record straight by fighting him for a second time and I’ve been told it is a real possibility for next year.”

Talks have already started and Mayweather insists he will be happy to come to London.

Hatton, 29, who suffered his only loss when they fought in Las Vegas, added: “I don’t want to be sitting in an armchair when I’m an old man moaning about my defeat to Floyd.”
