NBA playoffs part I

April 15th, 2008 . by Stankoniforous One
Eastern Conference
(1) Boston (65-16)
Games remaining: 1 (1 Home, 0 Away)
vs. +.500: 0 vs. Div: 1
(8) Atlanta (37-44)
Games remaining: 1 (0 Home, 1 Away)
vs. +.500: 0 vs. Div: 1

As Stank-0 mentioned here, this is the first part of a multi-part series posted here and here. First round in the East pits the Boston Celtics against the Altanta Hawks.

REGULAR SEASON SERIES
Celtics lead 3-0

Nov. 9: at Celtics 106, Hawks 83
Mar. 2: at Celtics 98, Hawks 88
Apr. 12: Celtics 99 at Hawks 89

Stank-0 will not go position-by-position, that’s what everyone does. Instead, it will go like this:

The Celtics have 3 playmakers starting in KG, Jesus Shuttlesworth and P-squared. They bring Sam I Am off the bench, and also have James Posey for defensive purposes. That’s five players who are battle tested.

The Atlanta Hawks trot out Mike Bibby… and a bunch of 6′9″ forwards. It was an achievement just for the Hawks to make the playoffs.

Add the fact that e’ery round is best of 7 and the Hawks do not have an ice cube’s chance in hell of beating the Celtics four times. The Hawks should build on this for next season and fight for a higher seed next season. Unfortunately, they have run into a freight train.
