Roy Williams Got A *little* Sensitive About The Horsecollar Teasing
May 13th, 2008 . by DellAll the scrutiny Roy Williams faced last season eventually caught up with him. He’s been regarded as vulnerable, slow, and dirty for his tendencies to injure opponents with his horsecollar tackling.

The opposing teams would intentionally throw the ball towards whatever receiver Roy was defending to exploit his lack of speed. The Dallas Cowboys responded by pulling Roy off the field on 3rd downs and obvious passing situations.
This has caused Williams to distance himself from the team and train on his own during the offseason. He’s reportedly lost 30lbs by using a new water based regimen, and is looking to prove the world (including his team mates) wrong. If the 2008 doesn’t pan out for Williams, he’ll most likely demand a trade due to the fact that he already dislikes the system Dallas uses.
“According to teammate Greg Ellis, speaking to Sirius, “Roy told me in training camp, ‘Greg, this defense does not fit me. I don’t fit in well with this defense at all.’”
