NFL Teams Have A Helluva Way Of Telling You They Don’t Want You Anymore

LaMont Jordan showed up to Raiders camp this week, ready to report for duty and begin mentoring Oakland’s #1 pick Darren McFadden. The problem was…. Oakland locked him out of practice and refused to allow him on the field. This isn’t a rare story in the NFL, it happens to dozens of guys every year
“We released LaMont from … on-the-field activities,” Head coach Lane Kiffin said, pausing in mid-sentence before choosing his words. “We’re pursuing some other options with him.
“We’re in communication with him. He was here this morning. We’re just keeping him off the field.”
Allow me to translate: WE DON’T WANT YOU ANYMORE…. .ewww get off of my field, you have cooties!!!
And this is part of the reason I usually support athletes when they hold out of their contracts for more money. It’s a cut throat business and a professional sports team will suck you for everything you’re worth, and when they’re done… they won’t even let you in the building (remember Steve McNair?).
