Is Floyd Mayweather The Most Hated Athlete In Sports Today?

November 21st, 2008 . by Dell

Not even 24hrs after the last video displaying Floyd’s money wasting habits, here’s another one where he acts even more ignorant. I think it’s all part of Mayweather’s master plan to turn the public against him… theres absolutely NO WAY you can watch the following video and *not* want to see him get his ass kicked.

He’s so brash, so cocky, so unpleasant, that I’m a huge fan of his and even *I* want him to shut the hell up. In the end, this will all translate to big bucks when he decides to step back in the ring and fight someone (Miguel Cotto? Margarito?).

I’ll leave you guys with an astute quote from Money May himself:

“Everyone has to support Barack Obama, thats a real brotha. He danced on Soul Train, he got a cold hoop game, he smokes Newport cigarettes, and he listens to rap music.”

ROFL. Please get back in the ring soon Floyd.

Antonio Margarito Doesn’t Have A Chance Against Floyd Mayweather

Theres a crazy myth that’s been regurgitated over and over by the sports media and fans who don’t know better for the last year or so. The myth is that Floyd Mayweather ducked Antonio Margarito and is scared to fight him. I know this myth provides fodder for the masses and gives everyone the chance to stir the pot, but the problem is that it’s simply not true.

I’ve touched on this issue before on Sportaphile, but in this post I’m going to break things down thoroughly so I don’t have to debate my readers over and over in the comments.

Aside from what I just previously mentioned, there are two major reasons that people love to believe this myth, and I’ll discuss each reason below.

*Why People Willingly Believe This Myth*
This part is simple. Floyd Mayweather is VERY easy to dislike to a large percentage of sports fans. People look at Floyd and see a loudmouthed, ignorant, spoiled rich black man, and it turns them off. He prances around in Read the rest of this entry »

Antonio Margarito Beats Miguel Cotto By 11th Round TKO

July 26th, 2008 . by Dell

“Almost” like I predicted yesterday, Antonio Margarito defeated Miguel Cotto in a TKO victory. Margarito’s insane amount of pressure built as the bout wore on and eventually wilted Cotto in round 11. By the time the fight ended, Cotto had already been to the floor once and his face was very bloodied. The camera panned over to Miguel’s wife and child who were sitting ringside, and they were both crying… so that gives you an idea of the amount of punishment he took in the last round.

Cotto was originally winning the fight through the first six rounds, he easily outboxed the slower Margarito and continually beat him to the punch. However, Margarito was like a war tank….everything Cotto threw seemed to bounce right off of him. Antonio charged forward for 11 straight rounds until Cotto simply couldn’t take it anymore.

One thing that seemed interesting is that when Max Kellerman asked Margarito if he would take a rematch with Paul Williams, the man who defeated him last year, Margarito seemed more interested in boxing Oscar De La Hoya.

Is he dodging Paul Williams? Or simply chasing a big money fight with the Golden Boy?
