The Oakland Raiders Are An Abomination

September 8th, 2008 . by Dell

How the NFL keeps scheduling the Oakland Raiders to play the opening Monday Night Football game is beyond me. They’ve won 19 games in six years and amazingly show no signs of improvement as time passes by.

Last night, the entire country got to witness the Raiders get massacred on their own field by the Broncos (a team which is not that good). Let’s see how the high priced signings did last night:

Tommy Kelly – DT – 7 Year/$50.5 million contract
How did he do last night? 4 tackles, Denver rushed for 142 yds total.

DeAngelo Hall – CB – 7 year/$70 million contract
How did he do last night? Deangelo was ABUSED by Eddie Royal all night, absolutely embarrassed. Due to Royal catching every pass thrown to him, Hall had 7 tackles.

Javon Walker – WR – 6 year/$55 million contract
How did he do last night? Didn’t play due to a nagging injury, money well spent.

Gibril Wilson – SS – 6 year/$39 million contract
How did he do last night? Gave up an easy touchdown to Eddie Royal, adding to his 9 catch, 146 yard night. Wilson did have 11 tackles on the night, which says a lot about the Raiders inability to stop the pass.

Darren McFadden – RB – 6 year/$60 million contract
How did he do last night? 9 rushes, 46 yards. To his credit, McFadden looked pretty good last night and would have had a touchdown if Jamarcus Russell hadn’t fumbled the ball in the 1st quarter. McFadden’s lateral movement looked better than the critics give him credit for.

These are individual players who are VERY talented, but happen to be employed by an organization so dysfunctional and clueless, they can’t put together anything resembling a professional football team.

They make me embarrassed to be from Oakland.

Maybe Javon Walker Should Leave The Clubs Alone For A While

So Javon Walker was found unconscious on the streets of Las Vegas with a fractured orbital bone last night… Someone beat the poor guy up and robbed him of cash and jewelry after a night of flossin in the club.

“We don’t believe this is a random act,” Las Vegas police Lt. Clint Nichols told the Chronicle. “They knew who he was and (Walker) presented a target.

“We did get a surveillance (video) of a vehicle and suspects that may have been involved. We know there were suspects, possibly two (but) we haven’t identified anyone yet.”

Some of you may remember, Javon Walker was also with Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams the night was shot in the neck and died in Walker’s arms. The two players were in a limo leaving a club after a night of partying. During an interview with HBO, “Real Sports” with Bryant Gumbel said the altercation stemmed from Broncos players engaging in activity similar to what you’ll see Javon doing at the bottom of this post.

“Real Sports” said another Broncos receiver, Brandon Marshall, and his cousin were partying with Williams’ group that night and began spraying champagne around, “some of which hit a club patron and his friend, who confronted Williams and his entourage.”

For the life of me, I can’t understand why Javon would do it again, seeing how it **may** have contributed to events leading up to his former teammate being killed.

You’re about to turn 30, stay out of the fucking club.. idiot.

Bigger Idiot: Cedric Benson or Travis Henry?

June 9th, 2008 . by Dell

Every once in a while, there are athletes who come along and say “you know what?… all this money, all this fame, the opportunity to inspire people… all this can go to hell…. I wanna get F-CKED UP!!!!”

We have two clear cases this offseason.

*Travis Henry*
-Travis has 9 children by nine different women.
-Travis is having financial difficulties, so he borrowed money from the Denver Broncos to pay child support.
-Travis failed numerous drug tests, including one last season.
-The Denver Broncos could have just fired him, instead they got his back and helped him stay in the league.

So what does Travis Henry do this offseason? He bit the hand that fed him (word is he faked an injury because he was upset at the Broncos for demoting him)… Denver got fed up and Fired hiim.

How many NFL teams are going to RUSH to give a multimillion dollar contract to a weedhead with attitude problems? … See ya at Kinkos Trav…

==========

*Cedric Benson*

-Much like Travis, Benson also has attitude problems.
-Cedric Benson didn’t want to split carries and played a role in Chicago getting rid of Thomas Jones (who was the better running back).
-Once Cedric got his wish as the featured running back, he did nothing all season long.
-After the season ends, Cedric gets arrested for boating while intoxicated, and proceeds to make a big fuss about how he suffered police brutality. The Bears publicly defend their player.
-Two weeks later, Benson is arrested on a DUI and removes all doubt that his previous arrest was probably justified.

As it stands now, Cedric Benson has a great chance of being released from his contract. If that happens, he’ll be in the same spot as Travis Henry. At least Travis can say he’s a great running back though, Cedric is just a bust so far.

A Fool And His Freedom Are Soon Parted…..

The man suspected of killing Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams may be going to jail for the rest of his life, all because he simply couldn’t keep his mouth shut.

Willie D. Clark is currently incarcerated (on unrelated charges) and decided to write a letter to one of his fellow gang members discussing his role in the killing of Darrent Williams. The problem is, the letter was intercepted by another inmate who then gave the letter to The Rocky Mountain News in hopes of cashing in on a $100,000 reward.

In the letter, Clark says he is worried someone who saw him shoot “D-Will” – a nickname for Williams – will start talking to police about the killing.

“(The person) seen me with the gun and shoot out the whip [car],” the letter states.

The stupidity doesn’t end there. Clark won’t be able to simply deny he wrote the letter, because he wrote a separate letter to The Rocky Mountain News in the past. Yes, you read that correctly, the newspaper already has a sample of his writing from a letter he wrote to them “clearing his name”.

At the newspaper’s urging, the source this month turned over a copy of the letter to law enforcement, which conducted a handwriting analysis.

Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey declined to comment on the letter or the investigation Thursday. But a law enforcement source said the writing in the letter matched a handwriting sample police obtained from Clark.”

So yeah… he’s a goner, justice will be served.
