Most sports fans I know refuse to watch golf unless Tiger Woods is playing, and there’s a similar effect going on when Usain Bolt comes to the block for a race. People were absolutely mesmerized yesterday afternoon when Bolt smoked Tyson gay to set a world record in the 100m. Although the race lasted just under 10 seconds, fans were talking about how awesome it was for hours after the race.

I don’t know if it’s the fact that he seems to be having so much fun before, during, and after the race…. or the fact that he makes crushing his opponents look so damned effortless. All I know is…..it’s working… whatever it is.

This is the true mark of a superstar.

It’s been a couple of months since Usain Bolt captured the world’s attention by smashing the competition in Beijing. Bryant Gumbel caught up with the Jamaican sprinter to recap his accomplishments and ask him what he thought of Carl Lewis implying Usain used performance enhancing drugs.

I’m sad to report he broke Michael Johnson’s old world record…. I don’t have anything against Usain Bolt.. other than the fact that he’s not American.

This dude is so fast that he was celebrating with only 80% of the race finished. When you watch the video, look at how hard everyone else is running compared to Usain, who looks as if he’s taking a stroll.

The funniest part of the video is the random Chinese fan who puts his arm around Bolt and squeezes him like a long lost brother. I’m sure Bolt was so happy he didn’t know or care who was showing him so much love at the moment.
